iPad wallpaper #8

The iPad wallpaper Tuesdays are back!

I took this photo on a hot, sunny day during my summer vacations in Greece. It was after reading "Light and the small details", a chapter in Ibarionex Perello's book "Chasing the light", that I got the inspiration to shoot some objects in direct sunlight. As Ibarionex puts it:

Though direct sunlight, even at high noon, is a quality of light that many photographers dislike and hope to avoid, I often find that such light can be perfect to create images in which strong, deep shadows can help reveal the details of the objects or scenes that I'm choosing to photograph.

I took this shot exactly 3 years ago and I still remember the feeling I got when I looked up and saw these wonderful colors. Nothing can beat the winter morning light! (original photo on Flickr)

Winter came to Sweden early this year, with lots of snow and temperatures up to down to -25 °C last week here in Uppsala. I managed to stay out long enough to take some photos of the beautiful white landscape and one of them is this week's iPad wallpaper.
